Hi there!
I have some exciting news to share in about two weeks, so keep an eye out for it! Any guesses? :)
A new essay
One of the most important improvements in my area of work at Buffer has been bridging the gap between our marketing team and our product teams. Since we managed to find some successes, I thought I'd share what has worked for us and what didn't. If you are hoping to collaborate better with your product team, I hope you'll find this essay useful.
What I read and watched this week
- How to win friends and influence Product: Alicia Carney, Head of B2B Product Marketing at Deliveroo, wrote an essay on a similar topic. If you work in a company much bigger than Buffer (~80 people), you might find more value in her essay.
- Marketing & Product Unite: Unlocking Growth Through Team Alignment: Adam Knight, Director of Engagement, and Chris Frost, Senior Product Manager of Zoopla talked about how they aligned their teams. The interesting bit for me starts at 6:30.
- Rethinking Google's Famous LaunchCal: We recently laid down our Launch Principles at Buffer so that teams across the company have a clear understanding of how we do product launches. I'm always curious about how other companies document their launch processes. In this Coda doc, Shiva Rajaraman, who spent eight years at Google and YouTube, shares his updated version of Google's LaunchCal.
See you next week!
